Featured Creature: Toad

I was still sleepy-eyed yesterday morning when I spotted this little guy against the wall of the bathroom and at first couldn't tell if he was just a rather large moth. I didn't know we had such colorful toads here in Sangkhla.

I've completed a small bit of research on toads in Thailand and have discovered that eating toads is common enough here that the Thai Ministry of Health has had to issue a warning. It's really kind of interesting. You should check it out. Who know that eating toads as a side to alcohol could be so harmful to your health?

Luckily for me, my toad wasn't afraid of being eaten and stayed long enough for me to get a pretty good photo shoot with him. Look at that face....so much personality! I've named him Bilbo.

And yes, that lovely little brown morsel on the tile is Bilbo's poop. And I wonder how my bathroom gets so dirty....
